Clara Carter, CDMP
CLARA CARTER, is an award winning and seasoned meeting and event professional with over 20 years experience. Ms. Carter, President and Founder of the Multi-Cultural Convention Services Network (MCCSN), Inc., provides global meeting, event management and hotel sourcing services to associations, corporations and leisure travel clients.
Ms. Carter is an advisory board member for Rady Children’s Hospital (SECU chapter), executive advisory board member for Mount Miguel High School’s Matador Business Academy, Trustee board member at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and has instructed at San Diego State University in the Meeting and Event Planning extended studies program for five years.
Ms. Carter has created several City tourism and hospitality programs and events, namely the Multi-Cultural FAM tour, which generated millions of tourism dollars to San Diego. Her most recent, highly anticipated program being the Women in Tourism and Hospitality (WITH) Awards Luncheon, a celebration of honoring executive women leaders and aspiring rising stars in the hospitality market. Due to four consecutive years of sell out events, Ms. Carter, with the support of her Advisory Board, launched their first WITH conference in San Diego in 2021 during the pandemic with more than 200 attendees.
Carter is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles’ Management Development for Entrepreneurs program and San Diego State University’s Meeting and Events Planning Certificate Program.
Ms. Carter’s recent awards and acknowledgements include 2022 Certificate of Recognition from 79th District, Assemblymember Akilah Weber; 2022 MiLady Honoree Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; 2021 ‘Clara Carter Day’ by San Diego Mayor and City Councilmembers (four days named in her honor); 2020 Top 20 Trendsetter by Meetings Today; 2018 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry by Successful Meetings Magazine; 2017 MeetingsNet Changemaker; and serves as advisory board member to several community organizations and is a dedicated community leader, volunteer, wife, mother and proud grandmother of her five heartbeats.
